The GAC Rosa Challenge Tour 2025, ranked as the second-most important men’s golf event in the world by the Official World Golf Ranking last week, concluded with a victory for 26-year-old Swede Hugo Townsend. It was the young player’s first victory on the HotelPlanner Tour and a huge step toward a top-level career.
Townsend held the lead from the start of the final round, though the competition provided plenty of excitement for the fans. At one point, his compatriot Tobias Jonsson tied the lead. However, thanks to excellent play and two birdies on holes 14 and 17, Townsend ultimately sealed victory with a score of -15.
Second place went to Anton Albers from Germany, who finished the tournament with a score of -13, and the lowest place on the podium was taken by the aforementioned Tobias Jonsson, who finished the tournament with a score of -12.
The final round and the award ceremony were watched by hundreds of fans who followed the leaders, creating an extraordinary atmosphere of a sporting celebration.
“We are incredibly pleased that the GAC Rosa Challenge Tour is once again becoming a celebration of golf at the highest level. We would like to thank our partners, the media, the entire organizing team, and all the volunteers for their tremendous support. It is thanks to you that we were able to experience these special moments together at Rosa Golf Club.” – says Łukasz Tomkiewicz, CEO of V5 Group, co-organizer of the tournament.
Townsend’s victory also has significance in world golf – thanks to his high score in the OWGR ranking, he moved up to 300th place in the world, which opens up opportunities for him to further his career, including competing on the DP World Tour.
The GAC Rosa Challenge Tour 2025 has once again proven that golf in Poland can attract the best players and provide fans with unforgettable experiences.
