Romain Wattel leads after two rounds, Poles miss the cut

Romain Wattel (France) holds the lead after two rounds of the GAC Rosa Challenge Tour 2025. Unfortunately, no Polish players made it through to the weekend. The closest was Antoni Hawkins, who finished at +2.

The level of competition in the opening stage proved higher than last year – the cut line was set at -2 after 36 holes, with 60 players advancing to the third round.

Poles show flashes of quality, but no advance

The best of the Polish contingent, Antoni Hawkins, produced a strong second round, carding four birdies on his way to a -3 on Friday. His fine play delighted a group of home supporters following his round.

Another hopeful after day one was Jan Rybczyński, who started round two at +1. He also showed promise, collecting four birdies, but his charge was undone by three bogeys and a costly double bogey, leaving him at +3 overall.

Pre-tournament hopes Alejandro Pedryc and Mateusz Gradecki also missed out on the cut, finishing at +3 and +4 respectively.

Romain Wattel on top at halfway

After an excellent second round, Romain Wattel moved into the lead at -9. On Friday, the Frenchman delivered six birdies in a strong display of form. Wattel already boasts a win on the HotelPlanner Tour as an amateur back in 2010, and five years later claimed victory on the DP World Tour at the KLM Open. With his solid and consistent play, he is once again well positioned for a title run.

Chasing the leader at -8 are Hugo Townsend, Bryce Easton, Anton Albers, and Renato Paratore. Sam Jones and Pedro Figueiredo sit one shot further back at -7, while the group at -6 – Oihan Guillamoundeguy, Rikard Karlberg, and Javier Sainz – rounds out the top ten.

The weekend promises plenty of drama – follow the action and support your favorites. At the top of the leaderboard, everything is still up for grabs!
